Frequently asked questions
What does this tool do?
It uses the browser's built-in URL parser to split a URL into its protocol, username/password, hostname, port, path, query string and hash, and lists every query parameter as a key/value pair.
Does it decode percent-encoded characters?
Yes — query parameter values are automatically percent-decoded (for example %20 is shown as a space), matching how a browser or server would read them.
What if the URL is missing a protocol?
A URL like "example.com/page" needs a scheme to be parsed correctly. If parsing fails, try adding "https://" to the front.
Is my URL sent anywhere?
No. Parsing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
