Frequently asked questions
Does this preserve the original layout and formatting?
No - this extracts each page's text and lays it out as plain paragraphs in a new Word document. Fonts, columns, tables, and images from the original are not carried over.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read and the .docx file is built entirely in your browser using JavaScript - it never leaves your device.
Why is the output empty?
If a PDF is a scan or a photo of a document with no embedded text layer, there's no text to extract - you'd need OCR software for that instead.
Can I edit the resulting document?
Yes - the output is a standard .docx file that opens in Word, Google Docs, or any compatible editor, and the text is fully editable.
