Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF tool free to use?

Yes. Merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, protecting, unlocking, and converting to/from JPG is free and doesn't require an account.

Are my PDF files stored after processing?

For every tool except PDF to JPG, uploaded files are processed on our server and deleted automatically after 24 hours. PDF to JPG runs entirely in your browser, so that file is never uploaded at all. Avoid uploading documents with sensitive personal data you're not comfortable storing briefly.

Will compressing a PDF reduce its quality?

Compression mainly reduces the size of embedded images and removes redundant data; text stays sharp. Very heavily compressed image-based PDFs may show some visible quality loss.

What page size does Image to PDF use?

"Fit to image" makes each page the same shape as its photo, so there's no white border. Choose A4 or Letter instead to center each image on a standard page size, with an optional margin.

Can I unlock a PDF if I don't know the password?

No — the unlock tool requires the current password to remove it. This is intentional, so the tool can't be used to bypass protection on a document you don't have access to.

Can I convert just one page of a PDF to JPG?

PDF to JPG converts every page and gives you a separate JPG for each one - download the single page you need, or grab the whole set as a ZIP.

Is there a file size limit?

Uploaded PDFs and images can be up to 5MB each. PDF to JPG runs in your browser, so its limit depends on your device's memory rather than an upload cap.
