Frequently asked questions

How is EMI calculated?

EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + r)ⁿ − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate, and n is the number of monthly instalments.

What counts as the interest rate here?

Enter the annual interest rate quoted by your lender — the calculator converts it to a monthly rate automatically.

Does this include processing fees or insurance?

No, this calculates only principal and interest on the loan amount you enter. Add any fees or insurance separately when budgeting.

Is my loan information sent to a server?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
