Frequently asked questions

How does this differ from the EMI Calculator?

The EMI Calculator starts from a loan amount and works out the EMI. This tool does the reverse — you enter an EMI you can afford, and it works out the maximum loan amount that fits.

How is the maximum loan amount calculated?

Loan amount = EMI × [(1 + r)ⁿ − 1] ÷ [r × (1 + r)ⁿ], where r is the monthly interest rate and n is the number of monthly instalments — the EMI formula solved for the principal instead of the payment.

Should I borrow the maximum amount shown?

Not necessarily. This shows what an EMI would support at the given rate and tenure — lenders also weigh income, existing debt, and credit history, and borrowing right up to your limit leaves little room for the unexpected.

Is my financial information sent to a server?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
