Frequently asked questions

Why does it say no EXIF data was found?

Only JPEGs commonly carry EXIF. Many photos have it stripped by messaging apps, social media, or image editors before you get the file, and PNG/WebP files don't use this format at all.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The file is parsed entirely in your browser using JavaScript - it never leaves your device.

Does this show GPS location?

If the photo has embedded GPS coordinates, they're listed among the tags - be mindful of location privacy before sharing photos that include this.

Can I remove this data instead of just viewing it?

Yes - use the EXIF Data Remover to strip it out and download a clean copy.
