Frequently asked questions

Which line is kept when there's a duplicate?

The first occurrence of each line is kept, and later duplicates are removed, preserving the original order of the remaining lines.

What does "trim whitespace before comparing" do?

It ignores leading and trailing spaces when checking whether two lines match, so " apple" and "apple" are treated as duplicates. The output still keeps the original spacing.

Can I remove duplicates without ignoring case?

Yes — turn on "Case-sensitive" and "Apple" and "apple" will be treated as different lines.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. Duplicates are removed entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
