Frequently asked questions

What counts as "extra" spaces?

Any run of two or more spaces or tabs is collapsed down to a single space. Single spaces between words are left untouched.

Does this remove line breaks?

No, line breaks are kept by default. Turn on "Remove blank lines" if you also want to drop empty lines between paragraphs.

Will it fix spacing around punctuation?

This tool only targets whitespace — it doesn't add or remove spaces around punctuation marks.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. Cleanup happens entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
