Frequently asked questions

How is the average (mean) calculated?

Add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are. For example, the average of 12, 18, 25, 30, 40 is 125 ÷ 5 = 25.

What is the difference between mean, median, and mode?

The mean is the sum divided by the count. The median is the middle value when the numbers are sorted. The mode is the value that appears most often.

What if there is no repeated number?

If every number appears exactly once, there is no mode, and the calculator shows "None".

Is anything I type sent to a server?

No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
