Frequently asked questions

Should I use the on-road price or the ex-showroom price?

Use the on-road price — it includes registration, insurance, and other charges, so the loan amount you calculate matches what most lenders will actually finance against.

How is the loan amount worked out?

Loan amount = On-road price − Down payment. EMI is then calculated on that loan amount using the standard reducing-balance formula.

What down payment do lenders typically expect?

Most car loans finance 80-90% of the on-road price, so a down payment of 10-20% is common. A larger down payment lowers both the loan amount and the EMI.

Is my financial information sent to a server?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
