Frequently asked questions

How is the duration calculated?

The calculator takes the exact number of seconds between the start and end date/time, then breaks it down into whole days, hours, and minutes.

Can I calculate duration across multiple days?

Yes. Both fields include a date, so the calculator works whether the start and end are on the same day or several days apart.

What is "total hours (decimal)" used for?

It expresses the whole duration as a single decimal number of hours (e.g. 7.5 hours instead of 7 hours 30 minutes), which is the format most timesheet and payroll systems expect.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
