Frequently asked questions
How are working hours calculated?
The calculator finds the time between start and end, then subtracts the unpaid break. If the end time is earlier than the start time, it assumes an overnight shift crossing midnight.
What format are the results shown in?
Results are shown as hours and minutes (e.g. 8h 30m) alongside the decimal equivalent (e.g. 8.5), which is useful for payroll or timesheet spreadsheets.
How is the weekly total calculated?
It multiplies the per-day hours worked by the number of days entered, assuming the same schedule each day.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
