3
Click "Clean →"
The cleaned CSV appears on the right, ready to copy or download.
Example use cases
Fixing a spreadsheet export
Strip stray whitespace and blank rows left behind by exporting from Excel or Google Sheets before importing elsewhere.
Preparing data for a script
Normalize a CSV before feeding it into a script or database import so unexpected blanks don't break the load.
Tidying a scraped or copy-pasted table
Clean up inconsistent spacing and empty columns left over from copying a table out of a web page or PDF.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as an "empty row"?
A row where every field is blank (or blank after trimming, if that option is on) is treated as empty and removed when the option is checked.
What counts as an "empty column"?
A column where every row — including the header, if present — has a blank value is dropped when this option is checked. Column removal only runs after row trimming.
What is the BOM being stripped?
Some tools (notably Excel on Windows) prefix CSV files with a byte-order-mark character. It's invisible but can break parsers expecting plain UTF-8, so it's removed if present.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Cleaning happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
