Frequently asked questions

Which occurrence of a duplicate is kept?

The first occurrence is kept and every later row that matches it is removed.

What does comparing "by column(s)" mean?

Instead of requiring every field in a row to match, rows are considered duplicates if the value(s) in the column number(s) you list are the same — e.g. "1,2" treats rows as duplicates when columns 1 and 2 both match.

Is whitespace trimmed before comparing?

Yes, leading and trailing whitespace on each compared value is ignored so " Alice" and "Alice" count as the same value.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
