Frequently asked questions

How are columns numbered?

Column 1 is the first column. If "First row is header" is checked, the header row itself is kept in place at the top and excluded from sorting.

What happens with blank or non-numeric values when sorting as a number?

Values that can't be parsed as a number are treated as the lowest possible value and sorted to the start (or end, in descending order).

Is the sort stable?

Yes. Rows that compare as equal on the chosen column keep their original relative order.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Sorting happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
