Combine two or more CSV columns into a single column with a separator of your choice — instantly, entirely in your browser.

How to merge CSV columns

  1. 1

    Paste your CSV

Paste CSV data into the input box, with a header row if you have one.

  2. 2

    Pick the columns and separator

List the column numbers to merge in order, choose a separator, and optionally name the new column.

  3. 3

    Click "Merge →"

The chosen columns are combined into one, with the originals removed unless you kept that option off.

Combine two identifier columns into a single key column for matching or lookups elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the merged column end up?

It's placed where the first listed column used to be. If "Remove the original columns" is off, the originals stay in place and the merged column is added at the end instead.

What if I merge more than two columns?

List as many column numbers as you like, separated by commas (e.g. "1,2,3") - each value is joined in that order with the separator between them.

Can I use a comma as the separator?

Yes, any text works as a separator (e.g. ", " or " - "), independent of the CSV's own delimiter.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
