Frequently asked questions

Does the header row count as a data row?

No, if "First row is header" is checked, it's counted separately and excluded from the data row count.

How is an "empty row" defined?

A row where every field is blank (after trimming whitespace) counts as empty.

What does "column count" show if rows have different lengths?

It shows the widest row's column count, since a CSV's effective width is determined by its longest row.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Counting happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — nothing you paste is sent to a server.
