Frequently asked questions
How are lines compared?
Each side is split into lines and compared using a line-by-line diff algorithm, so it shows which lines were added, removed, or left unchanged rather than comparing the whole text as one block.
What do the colors mean?
Lines only in the changed text are marked as added, lines only in the original are marked as removed, and lines present in both are shown as unchanged.
Can I ignore case or whitespace differences?
Yes — turn on "Ignore case" or "Ignore leading/trailing whitespace" to treat lines that only differ that way as unchanged.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
