Frequently asked questions
What is FOIR?
FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) is the share of your monthly income that lenders allow to go toward EMIs and other fixed obligations combined — typically 40-55%. It varies by lender and your income level.
How is the max affordable EMI worked out?
Max affordable EMI = (Net monthly income × FOIR%) − Existing EMIs. This is then converted into a loan amount using the standard EMI formula, solved for principal.
Is this the exact amount a bank will approve?
No — this is a ballpark estimate. Actual eligibility also depends on your credit score, employment type, age, co-applicant income, and the specific lender's policy.
Is my financial information sent to a server?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or logged.
